What's on Tap - August 2020
Hi members!
It's hard to believe it's already August. Hopefully everyone is staying safe and finding some joy during this time. Read on for the latest from TPC!
Mask & Sign-Up Policy Reminder
We appreciate everyone's cooperation with our new space policies so far. As more members return to the space, the safety rules become increasingly more important and we are using this as an opportunity to remind folks of what our policies have been since May 18th:
When in the space--at all times--a face covering must be worn over both your nose and your mouth. This includes when you are at your workstation. Staff will remind members once before asking them to kindly leave until a mask can be worn at all times. This is both for the protection of our community and is legally mandated of us--there could be fines or even a forced shut down if we do not comply.
Please wipe down your workstation after every use. There are wipes provided around the space.
We are still limiting capacity in the space to 10 members at one time. Several times over the last couple of weeks we have gotten close to or even reached this capacity. In order to ensure you have a spot, please sign up on the Google Sheet (Seattle / Tacoma) whenever you will be in the space. Those who sign up will be given priority over those who have not if the capacity is met.
COVID-19 Test Centers & Policy Update
There are a number of free COVID-19 testing centers in both the Tacoma and Seattle areas. While not required, we encourage members who are using the space on a consistent basis to consider getting tested.
Free test centers in King County.
Free test centers in Pierce County
On that note, we have added an addition to our COVID-19 policies which addresses the steps that would be taken should there be a member/staff member with a confirmed positive case. You can read that update here.
As always please let us know if you have any questions!
Racial Justice Support
In case you missed it, TPC offered donation matching earlier this summer for up to $1,500 to racial justice organizations supported by members. We reached our goal in 2 days raising $3,030 for the following organizations:
Black + Indigenous Organizing (via Hilltop Urban Gardens)
Black Lives Matter (national)
BLM Seattle King County
Campaign Zero
Freedom Project WA
NAACP LDF
NW Community Bail Fund
The People's Assembly
Southern Poverty Law Center
Tacoma Urban League
A big thank you to the members who contributed!
While this is one step towards creating a more fair and just world, the fight for racial justice is far from over. We hope that everyone is staying involved however they can, whether that's donating, attending protests, talking to your kids & family, or educating yourself.
Member Perks
Did you know that there are some fantastic perks included in your membership?
We have cross-location perks such as access to the LExC network of coworking spaces and insurance discounts through Trinet. There are also location specific discounts - for example 10% off and a free week at Cuefit in Seattle and 10% off at Outpost Kitchen in Tacoma.
We have relocated this list so that it's easier to find for you all! We're always looking for ways to partner with other businesses to provide additional amenities to our members and support small companies, so stay tuned for more.
