The Pioneer Collective Opens a 12,000 sq. ft Coworking and Meeting Space in Downtown Tacoma, WA
Audrey and Chris Hoyt, the husband and wife team behind The Pioneer Collective, have partnered with Power Properties to bring a 12,000 square foot coworking and meeting space to Courthouse Square in Downtown Tacoma. The company has started pre-selling monthly memberships and offices for small teams in anticipation of its July 8th, 2019 grand opening.
As national coworking chains have rapidly expanded around the country, The Pioneer Collective has maintained a strong independent presence at its Seattle flagship location, serving as a hub for small businesses, freelancers and remote workers, as well as a meeting and gathering space for companies throughout the Puget Sound region. With this new partnership, the group plans on bringing its independent spirit and locally focused energy to Tacoma.
Audrey said, “We’ve fallen in love with Tacoma and we can’t wait to support the fabulous organizations and businesses here by providing an inspiring workspace where they can focus on their most impactful work. Tacoma has a proud history and we hope to be part of a thriving and sustainable future. We plan on being an asset to our neighborhood economically and socially as we support local businesses, causes and the arts. We feel fortunate to be part of the Courthouse Square project downtown and to share a building with small businesses like Yoga Wild, Weatherhead Records, En Rama, Liftbridge Coffee, and Outpost Kitchen.”
The Tacoma space will have quiet nooks for deep focus work, areas for impromptu meetings, private conference rooms, dedicated desks and a large restaurant style kitchen for social interaction. Chris said “We’re focused on creating intentionally designed workspaces that allow our members to balance productivity, creativity and social engagement. We design and build for the variety of settings the modern workday demands and provide a team of knowledgeable and friendly staff to support members so they can focus on work.” “TPC members come from a diverse array of industries and backgrounds,” said Chris. “We want to build the place people come when they need to accomplish their most important work, whether that’s finishing a novel, or hosting a design sprint. We house nonprofits, creatives, startups, technologists, and accountants side by side but the common thread that runs through the membership base is dedication, drive and a curiosity about the world around us. Our members are serious about the work they do, but they also crave a place to be around other creative, engaged people. Each year, we lose more opportunities for organic human interaction as we trade experiences for convenience. The dose differs from person to person, but we all need to connect with fellow humans and places like The Pioneer Collective can play a role in filling that void.”
The Pioneer Collective Tacoma will offer a menu of flexible part-time and full-time coworking memberships, conference room and classroom rentals available to the public, corporate event space, and turnkey offices for teams of 2-12 employees. The space will also feature soundproof huddle rooms, private phone areas, a podcast recording studio, film screening room, and a members kitchen and bar area.
